If you are feeling overwhelmed, you are not alone. We all need support, and you are taking one of the hardest steps. Therapy can help achieve the development of many important skills as well as be the key to alleviating things you may be struggling with. I am ready to support you throughout some of your biggest challenges.

My ideal client is a school age child or young adult who is wanting to better themselves but may not know how to do that just yet. I typically work with individuals who have experienced past trauma, struggling with anxiety, depression, or ADHD, mood regulation, and help managing their anger or problem behaviors. In addition to being self-aware and motivated, learning what goals are important to you is a big part of therapy. We will work together to figure out your needs and how we can achieve those goals throughout our time together. Therapy is not always easy and opening up can be difficult. However, if you are willing to work, I will be there with you throughout the process.
I was born in Louisville but shortly after was moved to a small rural town about an hour south as a young child. I was raised by my grandparents due to my own parent’s struggles, which became my motivation for my own life. I have always wanted to be someone that children can talk to or relate to when in need. Life is not easy and that one person in your corner is so important. That is why I am here today advocating for you and advocating for your mental health.
I decided it was so important for me to be successful and be the light for someone in the future. With that, I applied to the University of Louisville with no idea how I was going to pay for college. Many obstacles stood in my way, but I continued on anyway. My college journey was bumpy and was never easy, but I did not let that stop me from reaching what I wanted for my future. I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Sociology. However, I did not think that was enough. I continued on for my Masters of Science in Social Work and decided to specialize in School Social Work. This is where my true passion was and what made my fire grow brighter.
So here I am today, doing what I love. I love working with school age children, teens, and young adults who are struggling with past trauma similar to my own or maybe anxiety due to the stressors of everyday life. I love watching my clients flourish and blossom into who they are meant to be. It is great to see someone who was barely standing on their own, begin to love themselves again. Or maybe the one who was so angry about what happened to them and did not know how to control it, begin to use skills and use that anger in a more positive way. I am here to help, and it is what I love to do. We will work together to foster the skills that you need to be successful within your daily life.

I want therapy to be validating and helpful to you as an individual. Therapy can be a journey and by the end of it you will be able to take back control of your life. Small challenges can lead to large success and even the hardest of challenges can be overcome and manageable. I specialize in trauma related to childhood, anxiety disorders, mood regulation, and problem behaviors. I utilize many modalities as I like to take a client-centered or solution focused approach. Some of my favorites to utilize are CBT, TF-CBT, expression techniques, play techniques, and mindfulness skills.
I am also EMDRIA trained in EMDR. It is one of my favorite modalities and has shown so many benefits for myself and my clients.
